According to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Saurav Suman, the administration had repeatedly issued clear directives prohibiting private ambulances from parking near the hospital premises. Despite these warnings, ambulance operators continued to disregard regulations, parking vehicles arbitrarily and disrupting both traffic flow and patient access.
During the inspection, officials uncovered a more serious concern: certain ambulance personnel were allegedly influencing patients exiting the hospital and directing them toward private nursing homes. This practice deprived patients of access to government healthcare services and raised serious ethical and legal questions. The administration categorized these actions as obstruction of official duties and proceeded with strict enforcement measures.
The seized ambulances are reportedly linked to operators identified as Rinku Pandey, two vehicles belonging to Pinku Pandey, and one registered under Bachchan Rawat. Authorities have initiated a thorough verification of their documentation as part of the ongoing investigation.
The crackdown has triggered panic among private ambulance operators in the area. Officials have made it clear that such enforcement drives will continue, signaling a zero-tolerance approach toward illegal activities that compromise public healthcare delivery and patient rights.
